Summer Bronze is merely thirty-four sleeps away. You can sign up on the first day of classes but spots are limited! You can reply to this email to set up a time to register at the UBCDC office.

Summer Bronze

Mark your calendars! Summer Bronze Classes will take place on Sunday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm. The classes will be taught by Murray Schellenberg, the same instructor for our Bronze classes during the school year.  The classes will be held at Fraser Fitness and Dance, located at 5780 Fraser St.

Summer Bronze will run from May 29th – July 6th for a total of 12 classes (2 more classes than last year!)
The class will cost $100 for AMS Members and $180 for non-AMS Members.

Students also have the option of registering in Bronze+ classes after completing Summer Bronze. The classes are meant to ease the transition into Advanced and are also taught by Murray. Students who have taken Bronze during the school year are welcome to join this class as well.

Summer Bronze+ will run from July 24th – August 24th for a total of 10 classes
The class will cost $100 for AMS Members and $180 for non-AMS Members

There will be workshops held between July 10th – July 20th (4 classes).

Hello Everyone!

The execs would like to thank everyone who came to the Pin Test Party on Friday to dance and to watch the Canucks win! (yay!) Congratulations to all of you who passed the Pin Test and received your ribbons. As many of you know, registration for Summer Bronze has now begun, read on for more details!

FInally, a quick reminder that the deadline to purchase Island Fantasy Ball Tickets through UBC Dance Club isTuesday April 19th. We must receive your money by then.

Island Fantasy Ball Discount

If you didn’t compete in the Gala Ball or you have practiced a lot for Gala and want to show off your moves at an upcoming competition, the Island Fantasy Ball is held at Nanaimo B.C. from May 7-8th. For only $20, young adult UBCDC members can have full weekend admission at the competition. That’s 67% off the regular price! This discount is only available for those who purchase tickets through UBC Dance Club.

If you are interested in buying tickets, there are a couple of payment methods:

1) Email us and arrange a time where you can drop off your cash/cheque at our office

2) Mail your cheque to our address at:

Box 29, Room 241J Student Union Building
University of British Columbia
Vancouver, BC V6T 1Z1

3) Drop off your cash/cheque at the AMS Reception in the SUB with our mailing address on the envelope.

We cannot reserve a ticket for you unless we receive your money by April 19th! For more information, please visithttp://www.islandfantasyball.com/

Even if you don’t plan on competing, come and support your friends!

Hello Everyone!

As promised in previous newsletters, details about our Summer Bronze and Summer Bronze+ Classes are now available. Registration for both classes begin at the Pin Test Party tomorrow. Be sure to stop by tomorrow to sign up for the class and enjoy an evening of fine dancing. Also, a quick reminder that we must receive your money for Island Fantasy Ball by April 19th and you can bring your cash or cheque to the party tomorrow.

Hello Everyone!

The school year has ended and exams are imminent but the Dance Club executives are still busy working on more events to keep everyone dancing. We would like to know what opinions you have about our instructors, classes, events, or just our club in general. Please take a moment to fill out our survey here.

For those of you who missed Thursday’s Special Edition Newsletter, be sure to check out the special Island Fantasy Ball discount for all young adult UBCDC Members. There was some confusion about the information previously provided so please read on for clarifications. A reminder that we must receive your money by April 19th. We also have more information regarding Summer Bronze, something for Newcomers to consider (you can be in the Advanced Class in the Fall!)

Hello Everyone!

All classes during the 2010-2011 school year are now finished and congratulations to all pin test participants. You will receive your pin test evaluation and ribbon at our Pin Test Party. For the Newcomers who are feeling a bit sad at the prospect of four months without dancing, do not despair! Summer Bronze classes will be held, which will allow you to attend the Advanced Class in the fall.
