Calling all Alumni!
March 2012 is the 50th anniverary of the UBC Gala Ball. This important milestone is an opportunity to share the history of UBC Dance Club with the rest of the dance community. If you are an alumnus/alumna and have photos or videos of your Gala Ball experiences throughout the years, please email them to gala_chair@ubcdanceclub.com.

Hello,
This is the last week of Summer Bronze+! This is a perfect time to stop by and get a preview of silver and gold figures before classes begin. If you’ve taken our Advanced class in the last school year and want a quick review, be sure to stop by the Summer Bronze+ class.
BC Closed Champion Zillion Wong will be our guest teacher this week. The drop-in fee is $15 for AMS members and $20 for non-AMS members.
We’re learning some cool Jive moves so be sure to come and join us!

Summer Bronze Plus
Summer Bronze Plus Classes will take place on Sunday and Wednesday evenings from 6:30-8:30pm. The classes will be taught by Murray Schellenberg, the same instructor for our Bronze classes during the school year. The classes will be held at Fraser Fitness and Dance, located at 5780 Fraser St.
The classes are meant to ease the transition into Advanced and are also taught by Murray. Students who have taken Bronze during the school year are welcome to join this class as well.
Summer Bronze+ will run from July 24th – August 24th for a total of 10 classes
The class will cost $100 for AMS Members and $180 for non-AMS Members
Robson Square Dance Series
DanceSportBC’s Robson Square Dance Series is returning to Vancouver this summer. Spin and twirl underneath the domes on Robson Street that were constructed for the Olympics (where the outdoor ice rink was). The Dance Series begins on July 8th at 8pm and will continue every Friday until the end of August. There will be free lessons at 8pm followed by shows at 9pm and 10pm so feel free to bring your friends who don’t already know how to dance. For more information, click here.

Hello,
Time is flying by and some of you still have yet to drop by and enjoy a class of Summer Bronze+! Don’t miss out on the chance to spin (un)controllably across a room for at least fifteen minutes every class with a partner attached while dancing the Viennese Waltz. Do you want to see what Advanced Class has to offer? Learn some Silver and Gold figures in Summer Bronze+!
We are currently running a few promotions for Summer Bronze+. If you sign up now, you will receive a $10 Dance Club voucher to make up for the fact that you’ve missed out on a few classes (our team of execs will help you catch up!). If you are already registered in the class and you bring a friend who registers, you and your friend will each receive a $10 Dance Club voucher.
Finally, be sure to come out to Robson Square on Friday night and enjoy an evening of ballroom dancing and exciting performances. Olivia and Robert, Bookings Rep and Equipment Manager respecitvely, will be the DJs for the night so be sure to come and enjoy their music!

Hello,
Those of you who are already registered in Summer Bronze+ may be hoping that you could have brought more friends to join in on the fun. UBCDC is going to help you out with that task. If you have already registered for Summer Bronze+ and bring a friend to class who also registers, you will receive a $10 UBCDC voucher each. The voucher can be used towards future classes or merchandise.
Did you just find out about the wonderful summer past time that is Summer Bronze+ without the intervention of a friend? You can still receive a $10 voucher if you sign up for Summer Bronze+ without the introduction of a friend.
Now that the Celebration of Lights have ended, we hope to see EVERYONE at Summer Bronze+ on Sundays and Wednesdays. Those of you who were not there on Wednesday missed out on learning a giggle-inducing Rumba move!
