UBC Gala Ball
Gala Ball is the annual competition organized by the UBC Dance Club Gala Chair and their committee. It was first held at UBC in 1962, as a year end event for UBC Dance Club members to showcase what they learned in classes throughout the year. Today, as we celebrate the 51st Anniversary of the competition, it has since expanded to include dancers from along the West Coast, Alberta, the United States, and Eastern Canada. The tradition of Gala Ball is still upheld with our Club Closed Events, but also includes Amateur Events, the BC Championships, and this year we are proud to introduce Pro-am categories into the mix! 2012 – 2013 is sure to be exciting, and we hope that you will join us at Gala Ball to celebrate an incredible year of dancing at the UBC Dance Club.

UBC Dance Club invites you to attend one of British Columbia’s top DanceSport competitions and the Club’s finest event of the year: The 51st UBC Gala Ball! This exciting event features everything from Club-Closed events, to the awe-inspiring BC Open Latin, Standard Adult and Senior I Championships, Showcase of Champions, and this year we are featuring a new category – Pro/Am! No matter what your age and dancing level this event is for you!
The UBC Gala Ball is a world-class event at affordable prices for our many Dance Club members and students, as well as for the general public. Join us on Saturday, March 9th, and Sunday, March 10th, 2013, for two days of great dancing, fantastic shows, and friendly competition!
This year’s UBC Gala Ball will be held at the Grand Ballroom at 12200 Riverside Way, Richmond, BC, V6Y 1K5.
